A Political Scrip Overprint.

Most political scrip is merely designed to look somewhat like actual currency. But the below numismatic political propaganda is real money, overprinted by rubber stamp by persons unknown in support of Pierre Trudeau and the Liberal party in the general election of June 25, 1968. Specimens such as the above were found circulating in the general Ottawa-Toronto area and the one below was pictured in the June 1, 1968 number of the Canadian Coin, Stamp & Antique News .
