MICCy Speaks:

The June meeting saw the presence of 26 members and guests, all of whom were treated to a talk by Pat Murphy. Illustrated with photos, Pat gave us the rundown on an extraordinary project now under way at the Comox air base: the restoration - practically by hand - of one of the world's few remaining Spitfires, the most noted British fighter plane of WWII.

July is here. This will be the last opportunity to make note of a couple of big doin's: First of all, the Great Mid-Island Barbecue will be held Sunday, July 15th at the Parksville Family Park between 1 and 6 p.m. Free pop, hot dogs and hamburgers but it's a good idea to bring your own chair. All collectors, families and whoevers are invited.

Even as our July meeting is being held, the C.N.A. Convention will be in full swing at Niagara Falls . For more information, go to: www.canadian-numismatics.org

Coming up in August: the club's participation at the VIEX and voting for our upcoming year's recipient of the Bill Potts Memorial Trophy, the big'un.
