The Occupation of Jersey Notes, WWII.

Since they located just of the coast of France, the British Channel Island possessions of Jersey and Guernsey were both occupied by the Germans in June, 1940, immediately after the fall of France, and remained in German hands until nearly the end of the War.

Both islands saw the issue of occupation notes, Guernsey "The States of Guernsey" notes dated 25 th March, 1941 in denominations of 1s, 1s3d, 2s6d, 5s, 10s and £1. Under the Germans, the "States of Jersey" issued undated notes in denominations of 6d, 1s, 2s, 10s and £1. That shown above is the Jersey 6d in actual size.
