MICCy Speaks:

The meeting of December 14th will be the Mid-Island Coin Club's annual Christmas blowout, open to all members, significant others, families. All welcome. Although the "announcement banner" above gives " 7:00p.m. " (as usual) the meeting time, we can - and do - assemble much earlier, partaking of the menu specials of the A.B.C. Restaurant . For the evening these are: (1) Roast Turkey Dinner, (2) Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, (3) Fish & Chips, or (4) Fettuccini with Primavera - each including a dessert selection for $14.99.

As in past years, most of the meeting will be given over to a donation auction and, as in the past few years, all funds will be turned over to our favourite local charity: Nanaimo Foodshare. This organization continues to give a great deal of bang for the buck so we hope that not only will you be moved to donate items for the auction but be a mite on the generous side with your bids. It's for a good cause. Donation items received in time are listed on the auction sheet below - but don't let a timetable stop you: bring them to the meeting. They're appreciated.

Along with the festivities, it's that time of year to note that dues for 2007 are now payable: "dooz-r-doo/2007" so to speak. A low, low $12 for the year. Although that is only a miniscule 3.2876712 cents per day, a dollar a month, we would appreciate present members pay in one shot. See Treasurer Bob; make him smile.

Since there won't be much formal business transacted at the December meeting, it is best to note here that elections will be held at the January meeting. Jeff has indicated that after having served two terms as president, he will not be offering for a third. So sound out any candidates for all positions; consider offering for a position yourself on the executive and best of all, try to be at the January meeting to cast your ballot.
