Update(Sale proceeds)

Usually, people will prone the inverse, but regarding charity, it makes sense. Rosemary Skarbo and Judy Anderson have been busy organizing a garage sale. The proceeds of which will go towards raising funds, buying supplies for the village of Mukeu in Kenya. Last year the duo went there on a mission to educate people with dental hygiene and help set up a dispensary for dental care.

This time, the funds will be directed towards a maternity clinic for the Mukeu's region.

Rosemary Skarbo says: “There could not have been better timing, with the live aid concert raising awareness of the extreme poverty in some parts of our planet and the discrepancy between the richer and the poorer countries. Governments have to do a lot, but also all of us as human beings, we owe it to help each other as much as we can.”

In the weekend of July 8, a similar event was organized to raise funds for BC Children hospital through the BMX organization. A total of $1081 has been collected. Robert Tallone from Right Click Computer Repair Says: “It feels so great to give something back to the community. This is a great cause and people responded very positively. I will volunteer again any time.” Jonathan Wilton and his mom Linda reminds us with this anonymous quote: “Fifty years from now it will not matter what kind of car you drove, what kind of house you lived in, how much you had in your bank account, or what your clothes looked like. But the world will be a little brighter because you were important in the life of a child.”

As for the previous sale, 100% of the proceeds will be used for the cause. Rosemary would also like to thank every body that gave so generously to make those events successful.

“Giving back to Africa” garage sale will take place the 6 th and 7 th of August 2005 at 5309 Williamson Road. For more information, you can contact Right Click Computer Repair at 760-1097 or online at www.rightclickhome.com.
